Smooth Jazz Beach Radio Heads To San Francisco!

Smooth Jazz Beach Radio.com Announced earlier today that the very successful smooth jazz internet station will be moving their station to San Francisco March of 2010. SJBR is most known for their Free Airplay & Free Promotions, and helping the independent smooth jazz artist getting started. "There are so many new indie smooth jazz artists that are on their way they just need the airplay to be discovered by the public and that's where I come in." Louis Simmons, owner went on to say that he hopes that every musician would be interested in having their own station and do the same.

An exact location has not yet been decided but will be announce on the first day of broadcast from San Francisco as a show opener for all of our new listeners from Northern California as well as world wide. The station will take a three week hiatus and return to the air starting in March with a brand new format to the station plus new playlists and most of all brand new smooth jazz artists.

When asked about how the market will be in Northern CA, Louis answered this: "I feel Smooth Jazz Beach Radio.com will be an added luxury to the very many already established stations in San Francisco as well as Northern CA. I hope to introduce the many artists our station plays to them as well and hope to see many more stations like mine start up. For instance you get an artist like Pete Gitlin who is an off the hook guitarist, does local gigs, promoting a new cd, and knows other musicians, this is the perfect tool for this artist, His own radio station." Louis concluded with," This move is going to be a successful challenge, The proof is in the passion!"

Due to scheduling conflicts with Smooth Jazz Beach Radio and the undisclosed new location for the station DJ Louie Marxx will Host, "Live In The Studios" up until February 19th. "I wish my run at KCTY could last a little longer but right now the contracts say Feb. 19th." Greetings,

So it has been a rough week but my answers are still unknown on my sailboat that was broken into and vandalized last week on dock GG. Because no one would like to take responsibility for the situation and I have been told over and over how this has Never happened in last 25 years. Well this definitely makes news for the newspapers as well as I have filed a claim with the City Attorney as well as the State Attorney and have asked for their help in this situation. After doing some easy research I found that is has infact happened before and on GG. All names of contacts for this incident have been forwarded to the appropriate officials so a complete investigation can be made and someone held accountable. I hope proper protocol was followed, but with the paperwork that I have, there are some definite answers to be heard.

I do appreciate what little help your office did and also will be launching an investigation on why GG dock has so many break in's and vandals when Lori Little infact told me that it is her that made this marina what it is today. I hope to get this resolved as you know I now have no way of moving my boat because of my missing engine, gas tanks, fire extinguishers and all of the things needed to be safe as well as LEGAL in your marina.

Now that Tina has moved this problem to the city, I guess you guys are non involved now. I have a good case and hope to win because of not following though on a release of a boat in impound.

Please respond to let me know what rules apply to me know as a slip renter, knowing what has happened. I have over $8,000 worth of missing equipment and damages and can not move my boat for a while. Also realize that this can happen all over again once my boat goes back to impound.

Smooth Jazz Beach Radio announced today that it will be testing our broadcasting next week in the harbor of Long Beach and Shoreline Village, home of the Najee, a 30 ft. sailboat that will now be an active part of this radio station. With this we are in hopes of broadcasting live from the Najee anchored out by Island White Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with our Premiere Lounge.

Host Takes Radio Jazz Show Out To Sea

By Kelly Garrison Features Editor There’s a new kind of radio wave in town, making ripples in the ocean with a 28-foot-long sailboat just off of the coast. Long Beach resident and radio personality Louis Simmons has taken his online music station out to sea, where he says he will launch what he calls a one-of-a-kind broadcasting experience within the next couple of months. His Smooth Jazz Beach Radio, he said, will fuse the sounds of jazz with the lifestyle of many of its listeners. “Our broadcasting office is from my apartment in Long Beach on Ocean Boulevard,” he said. “I see the bay and the boats and everything in that view gave me the idea to get into broadcastingÉ I took a look back and saw what resources were available, and went for this idea.” He thought of moving his service offshore after receiving an e-mail comment from a listener who said his station sounded similar to other area radio stations. From his new broadcasting center in Shoreline Village, he said he plans to interview guest music artists and travel around to play music at several Long Beach venues. “Airing on the water, although it won’t give us any magical powers, will give us just the edge of a difference our station needs to get the listeners,” Simmons said. Launching the sailboat-based station, he said, also will give him the opportunity to pursue one of his long-time interests. “I’ve always loved sailing, and now this is a chance to get into it,” he said. “I’m hoping that in a few years, the radio station becomes a full-on part of Long Beach and a known sector in the jazz community.” Simmons said he hopes to gain listeners and support through everything including advertising on his boat sails. “We’re hoping to get local and worldwide sponsors for the show,” he said. “There are so many young and upcoming artists, and since I’ve launched, I’ve gotten albums from here and from all over the world. I’m also hoping to get the boating industry into the station. I’ve got some great ideas.” The station was created last summer and plays over the Web site at www.smoothjazzbeachradio.com as well as iTunes podcasts. “I really enjoy it, because I have a great ear for hearing new music and for new discoveries,” Simmons said. “I like sharing that with everybody. It’s about promoting great music.”

Long Beach, CA - The Red Carpet marked the entrance of one of the most lavish party events Long Beach has seen in quite sometime. While Hollywood made its way down to what was once the home of The Spruce Goose last night, The Star Trek Tour made its debut last night with quite a turnout. With guests from William Shatner to our own Mayor - Bob Foster, Long Beach was home to the hottest Trekie party so far this year. Lavish hors d'œuvres and open bars made for interesting conversations while waiting in the lines for the simulators. The overall atmosphere was very professional, fun and very visual. Thanks Star Trek for making this experience both enjoyable and a night to remember!
